Stalemate in tough encounter
This was our first game in our cup campaign which is played in a group format.
Not a bad game to start with against some old friends, the game had all the billing to be a great match.
The first half however was far from it the lads just didnt seem on it and the early start was telling from the start as most of them were still in bed. Inter started really bright and were first to every ball they just seemed to want it more. Inters dominance paid off fr them as they scored a some what scrappy goal but well deserved. The first half continued the same and a few of the lads started to take a few knocks.
Half time came and a few stern words from myself seemed to really wake the lads up.
The second half couldnt of been any different we fought for everything and won most challenges. We pressed for large parts of the game and our reward came half way into the second half when the ball broke to Tom Hilditch who slotted the ball low beyond the Inter keeper.
The game continued at a fast pace and we had a good few chances to extend the lead but it wasnt to be.
I dont know weather the lads had one eye on the title deciding match against Ormskirk this week or weather they were just tired but the first half display was way below par, however the second half was brilliant.
MOM today goes to Dan Grundy who took a few knocks first half but came out fighting in the second period, he ran, jumped and slid in for every ball.
