Our fantastic Under 10’s Team Maghull (White) arrived at Hightown tonight looking to keep the progression of the team going. This Summer League is really helping the transition from mini soccer to real football rules going.

The first half started really well and after only 5 minute, Ryan, after a great through pass by Connor, turned and passed into the goal past the keeper 1:0. Then only 4 minutes later Ryan burst down the left and crossed left footed in to the area, Ciaran finished expertly 2:0. What a great start.

At 12 minutes Long Lane worked a good move and after a long shot scored past Callum D 2:1

For the next 10 minutes there was an amazing Alex hat-trick show. 3 goals scored each one getting better each time. 2 free kicks chipping and firing past the keeper; but his hat-trick goal was superb. Just prior to half time, from a goal kick, the ball arrived at Alex on the half way line. He looked up and hit a thunderbolt shot that nearly broke the net 5:1

Long Lane kept playing good passing football and deserved their next goal, another long shot, leaving Callum D with no chance. 5:2

The second half was much better as a competition. Long Lane and Maghull played some great football. Callum S scored his first goal from a corner 6:2.

Long Lane then went on a goal spree; they scored 3 goals 6:5. Until once more Ryan scored settling the crowds’ nerves again. From a throw in the Long Lane defence hesitated and Ryan nipped between two defenders to find the back of the net. 7:5

Great play today boys keep up the good work. Alex worked fantastically hard in midfield and scored a brilliant hat-trick MOM performance to him. His 3 goals and tremendous work rate earned him the award tonight.
