Celebrating our nominated charity & a decade of MTFC!

MTFC are teaming up with the Dunne 60 Challenge to raise funds for Macmillan and the charity as we also celebrate our 10th season!

On Saturday September 13th at 12.00pm, the best of MTFC's past will face the current crop of MTFC'ers in a road-block match that will not only recognise our Legends, but raise cash for a superb cause.

The Charity

One of our founder players, Craig Dunne (just 1 goal from 57 games, terrible really) along with his brother Kevin, set out to raise funds last year to honour their late mum, Jan, who sadly passed away in April 2010. With over £6000 raised to date, details of this superb effort from the guys can be seen at the following site;

The Club

This year also saw Maidenhead Town FC hit their 'la decima', our 10th season as a club (we still haven't won anything). While the players may have changed since our first game against Foxes in September 2004 (great goal Gav), our ethos and group spirit still remains.

The Day;

The Match - the best of MTFC's past take on the current crop of superstars in a 90-minute barnstormer at Braywick Sports Centre in Maidenhead (SL6 1DX).

The Post-Match - Owen Roberts has kindly arranged for Boyne Hill Cricket Club to be used as a shin-dig venue (thank you Rusty), where food & drink will flow and a raffle, an Awards ceremony & a few other money-spinning ideas will take place!

Our ask

Please please please try to make the day! Invite everyone; family, kids (plenty for the little ones to do at the Club afterwards), friends, work colleagues and even strangers...the more, the merrier!

If you can't make the day, we would welcome any donations to the event you can manage...perhaps £5 for every goal scored, £10 if Phil Lowe tackles someone, £20 if I win my half-time penalty competition with Johno Young (a wannabe keeper, 5 spot-kicks from 9 should be a doddle!).

Thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to seeing you on the day,

MTFC & The Dunne Brothers
