A young Maine Road reserves side wun out comfortable winners against Bedians with a hat trick from Paul Connor

Steve and Lee Hutchinson made it 2 wins out of 2 with another comfortable victory over Lancashire and Cheshire Opposition this time beating Bedians AFC 3-1

Bedians who finished second last season and only lost 3 games all year posed a stiff test for our young reserve side which was supplemented with a couple of first team players in John Mason, Paul Arrowsmith, Paul Connor and Ryan Livesy.

John Mason captained the side and they got off to a good start initially looking lively and creating chances with our typical style of good/quick passing. The early chances fell to Paul Arrowsmith who looked to test the keeper from long range.

Road took a 1-0 from a corner which was flicked on with outside of boot from Paul Connor, 2-0 shortly followed this time with a through ball from Jack Halsall on edge of box which Paul Connor finished well from tight angle with his left foot.

Bedians pulled a goal back with a one on one and the striker slotted past Ryan Livesy

In the 2nd Half Road extended their lead to 3-1 with a cross from Danny Hulme from the right hand side, which evaded the last defender to find that man again Paul Connor who cut inside finished into bottom corner

Special Mention to Ryan Livesy. 2 outstanding saves from long range efforts to keep at 3-1

All in all well deserved victory from young side.
