Webmaster, Richard Buckby has recently caught up with the clubs new Assistant Manager, Anwar Uddin.

Here is what Anwar Uddin had to say on his new role with the club:

"Myself and Alan Kimble are really excited to be given the opportunity to manage the club and look forward to working closely with all the players, club staff and fans in achieving success together."

"This role allows me to continue my development as a coach after my experiences with Barnet and the West Ham academy."

Anwar, who was the first British Asian captain in the Football League, has been appointed after the Jammers hired Alan Kimble as the club’s first team manager on Saturday (27 September).

During a playing career that lasted over a decade, Anwar featured for the likes of Bristol Rovers, Dagenham – who he gained promotion from the Conference with in 2007 – and Barnet as he made over 250 senior appearances.

He went on to become assistant manager at the Barnet in April 2011 as they managed to maintain their Football League status on the final day of the season. Anwar has also coached within West Ham United’s academy.

Anwar, who began his playing career with West Ham, will balance his new position at the Park Drive with his current role working for the Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) and Kick It Out as Diversity and Campaigns Manager.
