Welcome to the Manchester Rugby Club Under 8's website!
We aim to make Rugby fun for all whilst teaching the basic skills required for this age group.
At under 8's we play tag rugby which consists of the players wearing a belt with velcro tags. These tags are pulled from the belt to denote a tackle. Rugby does not become "contact" (full tackling) until Under 9's. Eligibility for Under 8's is that the player is 7 years old on 1st Sept 2012, basically Year 3 in school terms.
If you have any questions or your child is interested in playing then please contact our Head Coach, Will Chatterton either via email - willchat@btinternet.com - or on 07812 639076.
Alternatively, please bring your child to training at Grove Lane. Training or matches are every Sunday between 10:00 and 12:00 so please check the website to see what is happening on any given week. All home matches will start at 11:00 with the players meeting at the club at 10:00 to warm up.
All new players will be made extremely welcome.
To join training you will need some suitable sports kit, preferably some rugby/football boots, a snack and a drink. All tag belts, balls etc. are provided by the club.
