Harry Scott

It is with sadness that we have to report the passing of former player Harry Scott aged 85.

Maurice 'Mo' Parker has advised us that former Manchester, Lancashire and England player Harry Scott passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, 21st January 2012.

Harry died at his daughter, Judith Edward's home in Dublin.

There will be a cremation in Dublin on Tuesday 24th January but Judith intends to bring Harry’s ashes back to Manchester, where a memorial service will be held, details below.

Harry, who was 85, played for England in February 1955 against France at Twickenham having started his playing career at Eccles.

He was a Manchester and Lancashire stalwart over many years,

According to Wikipedia, he was the 856th capped-player in the history of the English game.

Harry’s Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, 14th. February at 11.40am at The Crematorium Chapel, Peel Green Cemetery, 716 Liverpool Road, Eccles, Manchester M30 7LW

Refreshments afterwards at Monton House Hotel, 116 -118, Monton Road, Eccles.
