Manchester have a mention in their 'Focus on the North' section, noting the reprise of the oldest rugby fixture and the improvement in our fortunes.

Rugby World - December 2014 issue:

Manchester lost 26-17 to LSH in South Lancs Cheshire One but few would know that the fixture's origins go to a match between the Gentlemen of Manchester and the Gentlemen of Liverpool back in 1857. It is suggested it was the first time men met for a game that had previously been played by schoolboys and students.

The modern Manchester club, under captain Tom Fantom, is in better shape than a few years ago. Last season they consolidated their league position after five consecutive relegations. James Beane has since become DoR, with Simon Ogdon as head coach, supported by forwards coach Chris Gough and with Neil James mentoring the backs.
