History
Mancunians RL are taking a big part in planning the future of rugby league in Manchester. Participation in rugby league is growing in the city as a result of the club's activities.
Mancunians RL was formed in April 2009 and is the new adult rugby league club in the city playing in the summer leagues. In our inaugural season, we were able to field two full teams on several occasions due to the sheer numbers of players interested in the club.
In 2009, the Broughton Park home of Mancunians RL hosted the north west Carnegie Schools finals, the Skanska Cup Final and an amateur '4 Nations' tie.
Every October, the flagship event in northern hemisphere rugby league, the Super League Grand Final is held at Old Trafford. This is the pinnacle of professional rugby league in the UK, and indeed Europe, and the 'Theatre of Dreams' sells out every year with fans from all over the UK.
