A BUSY weekend awaits Manor Park RFC after last Saturday’s ‘day off’.

Unfortunately no games were played on Saturday, January 14 due to Dunlop’s late cry off, but five Manor Park players did guest for Atherstone in their 19-12 loss at Coventry Technical.
This Saturday (January 21) sees Park’s first team bid for their first win of 2017 at the second time of asking when they host Shipston-on-Stour (kick off 2.15pm).
Shipston lie third in Midlands 3 West South but have lost their last two games against the division’s leading two clubs; Ledbury and Droitwich.
In the reverse fixture on October 1, Park came away from Shipston with a 12-6 away win.
The second team, availability permitting, are away at Coventry Saracens. Please let Podge Everard or Bobby Bridge know if you fancy a run out.
Following the games, a ‘Cheese and Port night’ will take place with a fancy dress theme of stripey shirt and moustache. Optional extras include a beret, string of onions or a maid outfit! To avoid a fine don’t forget to bring a cheese whose name starts with one of your initials, eg Joe Graham = Gorgonzola. Ben Davis – Brie, and so on.
On the social front, please remember that an end-of-season tour to York looms large.
Leaving on Friday, April 28 and coming back on April 30, the touring party is staying at a city centre-based Premier Inn with breakfast included for £125. A match with York RFC is scheduled for the Saturday. Please speak to Matt Marston regarding deposits ASAP.
