THOUSANDS of pounds were raised in memory of our fallen teammate Jamie Styles last night in a tremendous act of solidarity at Manor Park RFC.

In a tremendous act of kindness, Shane Duffy - who suffered a nasty leg break a fortnight ago - decided the £300 raised by the club for his troubles should be donated in its entirety to Jamie’s fund. A class act.

Two days after Jamie tragically died in a road traffic collision, large amounts of people poured into the Griff and Coton on Thursday night to raise a glass in his honour.
A hat was passed around the room for people to donate and by the end of the evening a staggering £2,500 was raised for Jamie’s family and dependents - a figure that is only likely to rise in the coming weeks.
We are extremely grateful to V12 Sports and Classics for their commitment to donate £500 to the cause.

The fund is ongoing and anybody who wishes to donate can do so by contacting Nigel Ellis on 07801 723683 or ellis.nj@googlemail.com or Bobby Bridge on 07792759180 or bobbybridge@me.com
We also want to thank the numerous messages of condolence we have received from other clubs, of which there are too many to mention.
Many have committed to holding a minute’s silence this weekend - for which we are again very grateful and touched.
As a consequence of Tuesday’s tragic events, a call was made early doors to postpone any Manor Park games but people are welcome to head up the club from 1pm on Saturday to watch Scotland v Wales (2.25pm) and Ireland v France (4.50pm).
There will be an opportunity to donate towards the fund on Saturday afternoon.
A book of condolences was also circulated at the gathering on Thursday night and will be available to sign once more on Saturday.
Posters are also being made for people's places of work for donations, if you would like one tailored for your firm, message Bobby Bridge.
