HEAD coach Kevin Venus labelled Manor Park's super Saturday as an ‘amazing’ one for the club following the first team’s 59-0 win over Bedworth.

Venus’ side ran home nine tries at Smarts Road, while the second team scored eight in their demolition of Edwardians – a late replacement game following Bedworth’s cancellation of the second team league game.
The afternoon had gotten off to a victorious start with the third team’s 19-17 win over Rugby St Andrews second team.
“What a club day and what a day for results,” beamed Venus.
“As if putting three sides out this weekend was not a big enough achievement - getting a clean sweep of four wins from three is amazing.

“In 1995/96 I had the greatest pleasure in being the first Manor Park captain to beat a Bedworth first team.
“Now being able to watch the first team display as head coach was sublime. I wanted a win but to get such an emphatic win was beyond belief.

“Firstly the 18 lads entering the field have my true respect to a man they stuck to the plan for the game.
“I had told them in our pre-match discussions that if we did that then the tries would come and they did.
“There were some big performances. The attack was exciting and a joy to watch. But more importantly the defence was our real our real strength I never felt Bedworth would ever breach our line.
“Jonny Hincks had possibly his best game so far this season, coupled with the Hall brothers on fire, Bedworth could not fathom where the next attack would come from.
“However once again Stephen Ballard at hooker was the best player on show, a hat-trick of tries and with an attitude of not giving up on lost causes. He wreaked havoc all day both in attack and defence he was easily the man of the match.
“My second joy was for all the older Manor Park supporters that turned up to watch, with an air of expectancy they hoped for another win in their lifetimes against the old foe. And the joy on their faces at the final whistle made the hard work worth it.”
Four consecutive wins has thrust Park to third in the early Midlands 3 West South table and next up is the visit of table-toppers Droitwich.
Venus added: “We now though have some serious work to get through this week ready for next week. We have a few unavailability's in key slots so our work during the week will be critical.”
