THERE'S plenty happening at Manor Park RFC this summer, we hope to see you at one or two of these events!

  • FOOTBALL: Throughout the summer we have been playing football every Wednesday at the Nuneaton Academy's 3G pitch on Wednesdays from 7-8pm, this will run until the second week of July. If you would like to play in the final few weeks, message Dave Paterson on 07780332174.

  • TOUCH RUGBY: We hadn't planned to do any touch rugby this summer but with plenty of people expressing a wish to get their hands on a rugby ball, we will be having touch rugby sessions on Thursday June 22 and Thursday June 29 from 6.45pm.

  • LIONS: The Griff and Coton has kindly agreed to screen the British and Irish Lions test matches on Saturday, June 24, July 1 and July 8. You'll have to get up early though as the games all kick off at 8.35am. Free food is available at half-time. The turn out of the first test will dictate whether the remaining tests will be screened.

  • SAUSAGE AND CIDER: Coventry Welsh RFC is hosting a sausage and cider festival as well as a tug of war event which will raise funds for JS7. Welsh have already been big supporters of the fund, donating £300 initially. Please pop along if you can and be sure to wear a Manor Park item of clothing to let them know we were there!

  • PRE-SEASON: Yes the dreaded pre-season begins on Tuesday, July 4 at the Griff and Coton from 6.45pm. Please let's have a strong turn out for the first session! There will be a session on Thursday and training will be Tuesday/Thursday therein.

  • CHAIRMAN'S BBQ: Matt Marston is hosting a barbecue at his abode on Saturday, July 8, following the conclusion of the final Lions test. All are welcome, just contact Matt ASAP so he can arrange sufficient meat and beer.

  • GOLF OPEN: The annual golfing event will take place on Saturday, July 29 with beginners/rubbish players being paired with pros/better players - so all should give it ago! The Open is taking place at Bramcote Waters GC. To register your interest message Bobby on 07792759180.

  • KEEPING IN THE LOOP: While this website is heavily visited, we also have a growing email circular which pushes thing such as fixture lists and appeals. If you would like to be added to it, send an email to manorparkrfc@hotmail.co.uk

  • SPONSORSHIP: There's two new areas of sponsorship this season we can fill. Firstly, we are seeking a sponsor to go on our new dress shirts to accompany a new tie. If anyone has any credible leads, please push them to Bobby B. Also, we will soon be unveiling advertising boards at the cricket end of the pitch on the perimeter parking fence. Again, please contact BB regarding these!

SADLY DEPARTED:
Alec Broomfield, a former President of Manor Park RFC (1982-1992) has passed away aged 87. He was a very likeable character and a true gentleman who will be sadly missed.

His funeral will take place at Nuneaton Crematorium on June 30th at 1:30pm
