In what were the worst playing conditions of the winter, so far the U11’s put up a sterling fight against a tough Dronfield outfit. Unfortunately, we were slow out of the blocks and found ourselves 3-0 down inside 8 minutes. We then realised we were in a game and it was at this stage that we began to see the benefit of the previous weeks training session where we concentrated on support play. The two sides were very evenly matched but with tries from Keean Clarke, Cameron Seaton, Josh Lamont and 2 from Harry Brough, Mansfield fought back. We eventually lost 6-5 but in what were truly atrocious conditions, the team never gave up. This really could have gone either way and there were some heroic performances. The stand out performance was from Keean Clarke for his driving runs getting the team going forward and across the gain line. If the team carry on with performances like this the wins will soon follow.
