Wednesday 8th July saw Mansfield RUFC continue to build strong school links through their involvement in the 3rd annual Mansfield Schools Summer Games

The Summer Games event which is part of the 2012 Olympic Legacy saw five Mansfield secondary schools converge upon The Manor Academy to compete in six sports.

Mansfield RUFC for the first time ran the rugby competition in which boys and girl teams from All Saints, Samworth Academy, Manor Academy, Brunts Academy and QE all participated.

Nicki Biggs, Mansfield School Games Organiser commented “Mansfield School Games is a fantastic opportunity for Schools to celebrate a year of sport! Schools now look forward to the event and it is great to see such enthusiasm and commitment from the students and teachers. This year we have been given the opportunity to invite local clubs to run certain sports, this has been well received and has added a massive amount value to the competition. Mansfield Rugby Club have been very supportive in attending planning meetings and delivering the competition on the day. We have had some fantastic feedback and I hope more students engage with the club after the delivery of such a well-planned and professional rugby competition ."

Pete Haskell, MRUFC School Liaison Officer " building new and strong links with all the Mansfield schools is extremely important for the club. This event was a great success and we look forward to continuing these school links at future planned events"
