The end of the 2015/16 season is well beyond us now however Mansfield Rugby Clubs Schools Coaching Programme has finally earned a well-deserved rest in August following a hectic and successful year of schools activities.

Mansfield Rugby Club's specific schools coaches have been working in association with the Mansfield, Bolsover, Newark & Sherwood SGO's and the RFU RDO to run numerous events for primary and secondary school pupils from in and around the Mansfield area through the school year.

Churchvale Primary, Crescent Primary, Heatherley Primary, Sutton Road Primary, St Edmunds Primary, King Edwards Primary, St Phillips Primary, Heathland Primary and Forest Town Primary have all had either support PE / After School sessions or have been involved in the RFU Mega fest events held at the club.

In addition to this the local secondary schools of Samworth Academy, Meden Vale, The Manor Academy and Brunt's Academy have had various boy and girls rugby after school sessions / events held through the year.

All in all the Schools Coaching Programme has allowed pupils of various Mansfield schools whether they be Primary or Secondary pupils access and involvement with Mansfield Rugby Club and created a pathway to the club and more importantly re-established the historical club / school links.

Thanks should go you our partners in Green King, Nicki Biggs, Simon Mitchell, John Barker and Lyn Winkworth for their support.

With further additional work at numerous new schools and extra events planned for in 2016/17 looks to be another busy year for the club and its Schools coaches who all do a fantastic and valuable job.
