March opened there first league game of the season with home fixture against West Norfolk 3s. March opened up the scoring when skipper Simon Althoff touched down, this was followed by Stewart Rigby crashing over for converted try converted by Aaron Boxall to go 12-0 up.
Working hard on their game plan were rewarded when Edward Cripp working hard breaking the visitors defence to touchdown for another converted try Aaron Boxall.

West Norfolk pushing forward towards The Bears try line when Simon Althoff picked the ball up off back of the ruck sprinted in from 60 yards for is second try again converted by Aaron Boxall, 26-0 in front at half time.

West Norfolk started strongly forcing march to defend frantically at times, but stood firm, Tom Ratcliffe opened the scoring in the 2nd half with an unconverted try, Stewart Rigby covering every blade of grass on the pitch was rewarded with his second try of the match again unconverted to put march 36-0 in front. West Norfolk responded almost immediately with a well worked try conversion missed 36-5.

Prop Jimmy Rowlands making his first appearance for “The Bears” powered over for his first try converted by Aaron Boxall. Again West Norfolk hit back with a converted try (43-12) Scrum half Ben Pyle rounded off the match with a try converted by Aaron Boxall for “The Bears” to win 50-12.
Brothers Dan and Jordan Pillinger, making their first appearance for the club both had sound games, and all 3 players’ new players look to be a sound addition to the squad.

Skipper Simon Althoff was very pleased with the overall performance from all the players, the game plan has started to show positive signs as all of the team are working hard and improving weekly.

Line outs was a great area of improvement along with the pack who put in a solid performance.
It is important that training needs to be well attended so all players can further improve their own performances.
