“An FA Regulatory Commission hearing, held on Thursday of this week, considered charges against Durham City FC, their Manager, Lee Collings, and a player, Joshua Home-Jackson in relation to two breaches of FA Rule E10 – (player) - failure to comply with a decision of The Association.

These charges arose from the club’s decision to report itself to the Football Association when it became aware that the manager had played Joshua Home-Jackson under a false name, whilst suspended playing for another club, against both Bradford Park Avenue on 31 October 2009 and Kings Lynn on 7 November 2009.

On hearing the evidence and submissions from the parties concerned the Commission decided that the club would be docked six points and fined £2,000, of which £1,500 was suspended until the end of the 2010/11 season and will only be invoked if the club are proven guilty of any similar breach of FA rules in that period of time.

Lee Collings, was suspended from all football related activities until Durham City have completed fifteen first team matches during which he should maintain no contact with the club in respect of attending matches, training or any administrative duties. The player involved, Joshua Home-Jackson also received a fifteen game ban.

All three parties have the right of appeal against the sentence and the club ’s board will be meeting to consider the implications of the F.A.’s decision over the next few days and will make no further comment until after that meeting.”

The League will also not being making a statement other than to say the points deduction will not be shown in the league tables until such time as an appeal is declined or heard.
