Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Marine announces the switching of its annual golf day to Hesketh Golf Club in Southport. This is the seventeenth annual golf day to be held by Marine and is to take place on Monday 4th September 2017 at the Southport venue with enrolment starting about midday with the course approving, subject to team numbers, of either a split tee or shotgun start.
The cost per team of four has been held again at £395 and includes a 3 course evening meal at which the presentation of prizes will be made to the successful golfers.
Hesketh is the oldest golf club in Southport, established in 1885. The course is pre-dominantly links in nature and Championship golf has been played at Hesketh from the early days.
In addition to being a previous qualifying venue when The Open was played at nearby Royal Birkdale, Hesketh has hosted many other professional and amateur championships. Most recently, it hosted the Junior Open in 2008 and co-hosted the Amateur Championship with near-by Hillside in 2011.
The golf day is a key fundraising event for Marine and this year again sees teams battling it out for the magnificent Marine FC 120th anniversary trophy which will be presented by Club Chairman Paul Leary at the awards dinner in the evening.
The event starts about midday and is followed by the awards dinner and presentation of prizes. Any teams interested in entering the tournament should contact Paul Leary on 07855-275722 or by email on email@example.com Information about Hesketh Golf Club and its superb course and facilities can be found on www.heskethgolfclub.co.uk
Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:
“We are really pleased that the officials at Hesketh Golf Club have agreed to host our very special fundraising day. Having visited the Clubhouse and met some of the staff we had no hesitation in formally requesting the use of the excellent venue for our golf day. The facilities and course is absolutely first class and I am sure that the change in venue to Hesketh Golf Club will provide a fresh interest in our tournament in addition to the course providing a new challenge for our golfers.”
