Chairman and committee in show of support for Manager Carl Macauley...

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Marine announces the support by Club officials and committee of manager Carl Macauley in his efforts to retain their place in the current division.

Marine are in 22nd position with 17 points having won just three league games out of 22.

The Mariners have set a target of 50 points by the end of the season in a concerted effort to protect the proud record of never having been relegated in the Club’s 120 year history.

Having recently signed defenders Joel Bembo-Leta and Mike Lea, in addition to midfielder Paul Smith, Carl Macauley’s main task now is the search for experienced strikers to bolster the attack and today the Club announces the signing of Lloyd Ellams from Welsh club Conwy Borough.

His former clubs include Stalybridge Celtic, Chester, Vauxhall Motors and Droylsden. The Club say that further signings will take place hopefully by the new year.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

“Carl’s priority for our football club has to be to retain our place in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. He has our total support that this will be achieved and the Club’s committee has in typical Marine spirit rallied round to demonstrate our support to him.

Carl is our manager and whilst his objectives have changed as the season has progressed he is the person that we want to be at the helm for a long time to come. To that end we as individuals are to assist him in bringing in further players to help retain our proud record that has stood since 1894. ”
