Yesterday I spent the afternoon with Marine Thatphanom at their Saturday training session. 30 kids turned up for the two hour session, Sunday I will attend again where they will have between 40 & 50 kids. Sunday is busier because on Saturdays some kids have extra school lessons.

The training is much more organised now. Training is led by T'Jo and he has a set plan for each training session. There are always 3 regular coaches now and 1 or 2 teenagers from the local Thatphanom school who are learning coaching skills to train others in future. Saturdays training session involved throw in practice, control, volleying and passing, as well as a good warm up and warm down session with stretching.

One of the young trainers Aum takes this session. He has been excluded from playing for the local school team because it clashes with Marine Thatphanom training which he prefers to take, that is dedication to the poor kids of this area.

The presentation photo shows the handover of the money raised by Marine AFC to the club head coach T'Jo as well as the KitAid collection of boots and shirts from Barry Lentons good work. In the presentation photograph is the trainers Nut, Jo, Tuk, Aum and Rung the Club Secretary

Some of the boots are very small and these will be donated to the local poor infant school where the kids are aged 3-6 and have nothing, the boots will be kept in the school and loaned to kids at sports time.
