After a relatively comfortable win in the FA Cup at the weekend Kevin Lynch is likely to make some changes to his starting eleven for this testing county cup match.
Like Marine, Clitheroe have had an unbeaten start to their league season sitting in fifth place in the Evo-Stik First Division North. They have however been knocked out of the FA Cup and Trophy competitions.
Lynch feels “This is a great opportunity for Clitheroe to make a statement that they can compete with the best in the Premier Division.”Hinting at squad rotation he added “ Whatever team I select it is for the players to show me what they are capable of.”
Admission prices have been reduced to £6 and £4 (concessions) so why not come along and see if Marine can continue their excellent start to the season.
Did You Know That …?
Clitheroe’s first major trophy was in this competition in 1893 when it was known as the Lancashire Junior Cup. They had to wait 92 years to win it again when beating Barrow in 1985.
Pint sized comedian Jimmy Clitheroe (real name) coincidentally was born in Clitheroe.
