Mariners entertain Bay in League Cup semi final...

Marine take on Colwyn Bay in the semi final of the Integro Doodson League Challenge Cup at the MTA tonight (7.45pm).

The winners of the tie will take on Scarborough Athletic in the Final on Friday night at Farsley Celtic's Throstle Nest ground (8pm).

The Mariners are bidding to extend an illustrious record in the competition, having won it in 1985, 1992 and 2003 and being losing finalists in 1981 and 1986. Hyde United are the only other club still in membership of the NPL to have matched the Crosby club's three successes.

The League meetings between the sides this season ended 2-2 at the MTA with the Crosby club winning the return 3-0 at Llanelian Road on Easter Monday.

Both clubs have injury and availability issues with the heavy schedule towards the end of the season having taken an inevitable toll.

One certain absentee for the Whites is striker Chris Sharp, who in addition to having a broken foot is also cup tied.

Supporters are reminded that there is no extra time in the event of a draw, the tie will go straight to penalties.

Admission to the Marine Travel Arena is £10 adults and £5 concessions, please note this is an all pay cup tie and the usual offers for accompanied U11s and Everton / Liverpool / Tranmere / AFC Liverpool season ticket holders do NOT apply to this game.

The Graham Lounge will be open from 6pm with a guest cask ale and extra supplies of the all important crisps and nuts.
