Bank Holiday cracker in prospect at the MTA...

Marine entertain West Lancashire neighbours Skelmersdale United at the Marine Travel Arena on Monday in a local derby clash (3pm).

A bumper good natured Bank Holiday crowd is expected at the Marine Travel Arena as both sides look to extend steady starts to the Evo-Stik Premier Division season.

The Blues have nine points from their opening five games, winning the first three but going down in the last two, at Buxton in midweek and then at home to Stourbridge on Saturday.

Marine meanwhile will be looking to register their first win in front of their own fans, their only defeat so far coming at the hands of Nantwich Town balanced by an away win at Hyde United.

Sean Hessey's men gained a valuable point at Barwell on Saturday in a 1-1 draw, after playing for 70 minutes with 10 men after Stephen Wainwright's dismissal.

Last season the sides won their respective home games, the Blues by 3-1 at Stormy Corner with the Mariners taking the points by a 1-0 scoreline in the return, Lloyd Ellams netting both Marine goals.

Skelmersdale have added to their squad with the return of former players George Donnelly and Chris Almond.

Marine have ongoing injury doubts around Chad Whyte (hip) and Karl Clair (ankle).

Admission is £10 adults, £5 concessions with accompanied U11's admitted free.

Liverpool, Everton, Tranmere Rovers and AFC Liverpool season ticket holders are admitted for £5 on production of their season ticket.

The Graham Lounge will be open from 12 noon with guest cask ale Marston's "King of Swing", together with the obligatory crisps and nuts.
