Marine 0-0 Hyde United: Match Report
Both teams could easily have won but also could easily have lost...
Marine were held to a feisty 0-0 draw by Hyde United on Saturday afternoon in the Northern Premier League.
Hyde started the better of the two sides, showing their class, offering Marine a bigger threat than Lancaster City did earlier in the week.
The game got a feisty in latter stages of the first half with aggro being shown toward Chris Doyle following an altercation with Jerome Wright, which resulted in the Hyde man being given a yellow card.
Marine started the second half well and the home crowd were in better voice than in the first half when the Hyde fans sang their lungs out.
Table tennis football ensued for the remainder of the game as both teams looked to grab the winner; the home side arguably had the better chances of the two teams.
Both Martin Fearon and Peter Cook had great games for their teams and were almost solely the reason both teams had such a hard time grabbing a goal.
The introduction of Finlay Sinclair-Smith directly resulted in the best chance of the game as the youngster freed up some space down the left flank but his shot was pushed agonisingly wide by Crook.
It’s now three home league games on the bounce that Marine have failed to score and perhaps time for Neil Young to consider his options.
