Farol Ltd was founded in 1976, by George Vellacott an ex SCATS manager in Hampshire and former agricultural engineer with farmer financier Roland Harris in Lewknor, Oxfordshire. It started as a machinery trading and engineering center coupled with the Fiatagri new tractor franchise. As a new player in the market full of well established machinery dealers, Farol had to be diverse and very soon became a major importer and exporter of good new and used Agricultural tractors, combines and machinery. This is turn complimented the retail side of the business very well with Farol being able to quite often be more competitive on price and this allowed the business to expand relatively rapidly. After a few years trading George Vellacott obtained the full share holding in Farol and as to this day the company is 100% family owned.
Over the years Farol has built up an excellent team of dedicated staff in all areas, Sales, Parts, Transport, Tyres and Service, many have been with the company since nearly the beginning. We aim to continually improve and expand our commitment to UK farming and our export sales with our diverse and enthusiastic approach.
We are Timber Merchants specialising in quality Hardwood and quality Softwood and have one of the most comprehensive ranges of hardwood and softwood stock in the country, including solid hardwood flooring and hardwood decking, all stored under cover at our 10 acre site in Atherstone, Warwickshire.
Our hardwood merchants business was established in 1862 and over 150 years later the company remains an independent family business committed to supplying quality hardwood and softwood, with a reputation for our high standard of service.
As long established quality hardwood merchants we import only the best hardwood grades from reputable mills, most of whom we have dealt with for many years. We have our own machining mill for planing and moulding and a well equipped log mill for conversion of English hardwood logs. All our timber is put through our own exacting re-grading system on arrival, which involves board by board inspection.
Sykes Timber carefully selects from a wide range of quality hardwoods to customers exact requirements which minimises wastage; we do not supply in packs. We are very experienced at dealing with Architects and Specifiers on choice of timber and economical specification. We have our own fleet of lorries and are able to arrange delivery nationwide.
Our web-site provides information for a wide variety of timber users, ranging from joiners, boat builders, shopfitters, cabinetmakers, architects and specifiers, engineering pattern makers, through to retail customers. Please take a look around the site and contact us for any further details you need or for a quotation for your hardwood, softwood, hardwood flooring or hardwood decking requirements.
We have a showroom that features displays of hardwood decking and hardwood flooring as well as moulded sections, hardwood kitchen worktops and hardwood ledged and braced doors. Above all it is an opportunity to see samples of the huge range of timbers that we have in stock and examples of how they will look as finished products in a variety of end uses. This unique facility is popular with our customers and is ideal for those looking for ideas and inspirations whether they be end users, project managers, designers or contractors.
In addition to our normal opening hours retail customers requiring hardwood, softwood, hardwood flooring or hardwood decking, can call in at our offices on Saturday mornings and receive expert impartial advice on timber selection and any machining requirements.

GS Solicitors was established in 2005 by Mark Goodman, Carl Skelton and Beth Sedgwick. Mark had previously been a partner for over 20 years at a large Leicester firm and Carl had worked for a Hinckley firm for 15 years. Between them, Mark and Carl perceived that there was an opportunity in Hinckley for a legal firm which specialised in non-contentious legal work, particularly commercial and corporate work, and commercial and residential conveyancing.
The firm enjoyed a successful initial four years and when the opportunity arose to acquire the practice of Pilgrim and Webster, a law firm established in Hinckley for over 100 years, the partners were delighted to make that acquisition, enabling the firm to move into its own offices at 23 Station Road, Hinckley, and further enabling the firm to offer a wider range of legal services to its clients.
The firm can now offer legal services in the areas of Company and Commercial work, Corporate and Business advice, Commercial Conveyancing, Residential Conveyancing, Family and Matrimonial advice, and Probate and Wills. We think that we offer a service which is tailored to the needs of each client and each transaction, without the need to use legal jargon.

In 1873 the Ashby and The Ashby and Nuneaton Joint Railway opened a line through Market Bosworth to Ashby De La Zouch. The station and station house were opened later that year.
Market Bosworth station remained open for less than fifty years as a full station and was finally closed to passenger traffic during World War II. The railway line continued in operation until it’s final closure in 1965.
The station itself was closed in 1966 and the following year Station Garage was born. The garage continues to serve the Market Bosworth community and the surrounding area to the present day.
