The opening game of the season on Saturday at Greenfields saw the spoils shared as Drayton drew 0-0 with Stamford AFC. It's not often you see a Greenfields encounter end up scoreless but that's what happened on Saturday as the defences were certainly on top. Man-of-the-match had to be Ash Rawlins who carried on his good form and pulled off some great saves being the busier of the 2 keepers. Drayton looked solid at the back defending resolutely but looked to be lacking up front as chances were at a premium. All-in-all a good point for Drayton and a almost immediate chance to top the table tomorrow evening as we visit Romulus.

Kick-off at Coles Lane is 19:45, a tricky tie on the 3G surface but it's a venue where we have had our successes with an impressive 4-2 on our most recent visit last Christmas.

Looking further ahead to next Saturday we travel the short distance to Sporting Khalsa in the FA Cup, an important tie for the club as we like to give a showing in this prestigious competition. Sporting are a team on the up and it will be a tough match but we look forward to it.
