Market Drayton Town recorded a third successive win at Greenfields on Saturday with victory over Coalville Town.

There has always been plenty of goals in this fixture and last years aggregate of 8 was matched this season but the scores couldn't have been more different. Last years 7-1 reverse was well and truly revenged with Drayton running out 5-3 winners.

Goals by Aidan Haughton and Jeff Watkins gave Drayton an early 2 goal start with Nathan Watson replying for the visitors to make it 2-1 at half-time. Further goals in the second half by Aidan Haughton again and a Joseph Woolley brace saw Drayton race into a 5-1 lead. Nathan Watson grabbed his and Coalville's 2nd goal on 70mins and the defecit was reduced further on 81mins with a Sam Saunders goal. No further goals in the last 10 minutes meant Drayton held on for victory.

Drayton remain 19th in the table but are within one victory of 3 teams above them. Chasetown, who are the visitors to Greenfields next week, are one of those teams so victory would see Drayton leapfrog them in the table. Three league wins in succession last occurred in April '13. Next week could see that become 4!
