Market Drayton travelled to Northwich Victoria, playing at Stafford Rangers home ground for a midweek fixture that proved frustrating for both teams searching for a win.
Drayton took the lead in the second minute as Dorryl Proffitt headed home from close range. The lead proved to be short-lived however, as Paul Mooney levelled nine minutes after half time. The goal proved to be the final of the game and the spoils were shared. Manager Jimmy Mullen was pleased with the point, feeling that the Northwich side could prove to be front-runners for the league as the season develops.
