Market Drayton Town play host to Leek Town tomorrow in an Easter Bank Holiday Monday special.

Both teams need the points for different reasons as a larger than usual anticipated crowd is expected for this local derby showdown.

Leek have been flying high at the top end of the table and have an outside chance of automatic promotion despite losing to rivals Coalville Town on Saturday. A crowd of 575 saw Leek go down 1-0 at Harrison Park. This leaves them 6 points behind leaders Halesowen Town and 4 points behind Coalville. Leek need to win both their remaining matches, Halesowen to lose their one remaining game and Coalville to fail to win either of their last 2 matches, so it's an outside chance at best for automatic promotion for Leek.

Meanwhile Drayton's miserable run continues as defeat at Goole yesterday stretches the winless run to 7, having lost the last 5 games. Drayton require 2 points to reach safety notwithstanding other results so a win tomorrow would see safety and divisional status assured.

Looking at the history of this fixture, Leek have visited Greenfields on 4 previous occasions. 09/10 saw Leek's only victory 2-0, season 10/11 saw Drayton come out 2-1 winners and the last 2 seasons have seen 1-1 draws. We last played Leek on Boxing Day last and were beaten 5-0 so it will be a tough game with all to play for.

It should make for a cracking atmosphere so get yourselves down to Greenfields folks and cheer on the Drayton boys as the Leek team have a good voiciferous following.
