Drayton will be embarking on their 6th season at Step 4 in the long-titled Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division 1 South. Previous campaigns has seen Drayton finish 13th, 18th, 16th, 15th and last season 19th.

It's fair to say last season was a challenging one that saw the coming and going of 4 managers, the lowest points tally since promotion to the league (35 points) coming from the lowest wins (8) with the lowest-goals for tally (56) and the highest goals-against tally (105). But, survive we did and onwards and upwards for the new season.

The new season brings in a new management team together with a few new players which brings renewed optimism.

Optimism is required for tomorrow as the away record at Sheffield FC has seen 5 defeats from 5 visits, the only consolation being that Drayton have always scored there. A tough opener no doubt but ultimately winnable.

Finally, for the season ahead, it would be great to see a few more down at Greenfields. This is a good level of football, goals aplenty and only a fiver for a season's regular. Let's make sure we offer our support for our representatives on the pitch to maintain what we already have and to reach out for what we can achieve. Supporting the players, team and club win, lose or draw.
