Saturday 20th October will see yet another 'new team' at Greenfields, when Colne FC are the visitors for their very first excursion to Market Drayton.
Martyn Davies will again have selection problems, although on this occasion for slightly improved reasons - defender Simon Gregory and striker Matt Ballard should be available for selection and Andy Hartlebury is approaching match fitness; the downside is that Paul McMullen is struggling with an hamstring injury.
The statistics for the game versus Colne FC show some interesting facts:
MDTFC are unbeaten in our 4 'Home' games this season and also unbeaten in our last 5 League games.
Colne FC have an excellent 'Away' record, having won 3 and drawn 2 of the 6 games that they have played on their travels.
Here at MDTFC we will be buoyed by our recent performances against top teams in the West Division, and will certainly be looking to preserve our 'Home' record and at the same time extend our unbeaten run to 6 games.
Colne, despite their excellent 'Away' record, will be looking to bounce back from the 1-6 mauling by League leaders Runcorn Linnets sustained in their last League game in front of their Home crowd of 336 - we would certainly enjoy that level of support if not the result!
Again early days, but here are the current League Standings:
