On Saturday 14th January 2017 we welcome the players, supporters and officials of Stamford AFC, for the visit of 'The Daniels' to the Greenfields Stadium.

Here at Market Drayton FC we are some points adrift of the teams immediately above us in the League Table, so it is vital that we get back to winning ways, particularly as the weekend results did not go in our favour.

Without it sounding biased we certainly seem to have suffered from some disappointing refereeing decisions in our last two home games, without which out League position would have looked much healthier.

After an indifferent December 2016 Stamford AFC have recorded two victories in their last three games, including an excellent away win at Belper; we will therefore need to be at the top of our game to claim the three points.

With Northwich Victoria having been deducted 10 points, due to a reported insolvency event, Northwich now occupy bottom place in the League with 13 points; how sad to see such a proud club in this position and we hope that they can progress and succceed under their new ownership.
