For the first time Leicester Tigers have officially recognised the work of local clubs in their group days and community rugby courses. Market Harborough were one of three Leicestershire Clubs selected to receive the award and were presented with a commemorative plaque in the Tigers in the Park event before the opening game of the season against Newcastle Falcons.
Mike Fletcher, mini and junior chairman received the award from Scott Clarke from Tigers, joined on stage by familiar Tigers players plus some of the mini players.
Mike Fletcher said "It was fantastic to be recognised by Tigers for our involvement in integrating the community game with professional sport and for working with them in delivering training courses at our club too. Grass roots rugby provides the foundations for our professional clubs and we are delighted to play our part in ensuring future generations are involved in our sport, either as players or fans"..
