Pre-season numbers look very good

Pre-season numbers look very good with almost 40 attending a pre-season meeting where our aims for the season ahead were agreed with a focus on greater attendance at training and more regular availability for matches. Training has now started with 34 attending our first session and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday (be ready and changed by 18.55), initially on the far pitches past the football club as we allow the clubhouse pitches to recover from our new drainage. Training will focus on fitness and rugby skills with our coaching team of Ian "Dosser" Smith and Richard "Smashie" Bowden determined to take us forward. We have 2 pre-season fixtures organised on Thursday 17 August at home to Huntingdon and on Thursday 24 August away at Old Scouts, both scheduled to kick off at 19.00. There is then our pre-season tour to Yorkshire on 26/27 August (contact David Henderson via Facebook).
We have a new 1st Team Manager in Callum Blair with Fergus Clarke and Lawrence Plant as player representatives on the committee. We are determined to field 3 teams plus Colts most Saturdays and seek success at all levels plus of course after game "celebrations" in the rugby tradition. We have already been joined by a few new or returning players and others are always welcome both new and those who spent far too much time last season shopping on a Saturday afternoon! Come and join us - you know you want to
