Marlborough 29-22 Walcot
The game started in good weather and ended in torrential rain.
The worsening conditions was the reverse of the home sides performance who improved as the game went on. Marlborough played up the slope in the first half and struggled most of the half. General mistakes and poor tackling were taken advantage of by a strong visiting team who went into a 17-0 lead. Marlborough did get on the score sheet with a try from Lotu Ngungutau who powered over for a converted try. The half time score was 17-7 to Walcot.
The second half saw repeated penalties being conceded and eventually led to the sin binning of outside half Jake Williams. When he returned he moved to scrum half and began to control the game. Tries for Jack Lynd with a powerful run and Williams with a good break from a ruck turned the game and eventually Marlborough were able to scrap out a 29-22 victory.
Alfred's Nomads had a good win away to Colerne with a 41-10 win in their first game after promotion into Dorset & Wilts North 2.
