Corsham 36-22 Marlborough
A poor performance by Marlborough in a league and cup double header gives the wins to Corsham
Marlborough started the game well with number 8 Feofa'aki Holoia taking the ball from the kick off and running it back to score. The conversion was added by Garth Bari who soon after added a penalty for a 10-0 lead. This early good start soon turned and some poor decisions led to first a sin bin pen for Joe Tavaga and then a very harsh second yellow for what looked like a good win of the ball at a tackle.
Corsham came back into the game and despite playing a large amount of the game with 14, the game was still even and tries from Ratu Vuira and Viliami Lotoahea against 3 from Corsham meant that in the last period of the game it was still 22-22. The crucial play of the game came when, with the visitors looking to score, a pass was intercepted and Corsham broke out to score. This was the game winning score and with heads dropping, some tackles were missed resulting in another try to Corsham and a final score of 36-22.
Alfred's Nomads recorded their biggest ever win with a 112-3 win over Combe Down 2nds. A terrific display of attacking rugby whilst maintaining discipline at breakdowns and looking to keep the team play going. Lots of tries scored and hat tricks for James Clancy and Zach Reid.
