United relinquished the title after being blasted 5-0 by new champions Reading YMCA

The game was disappointing from United’s perspective after offering effective resistance for just over the half hour mark, three defensive errors punished by clinical finishing before half time however ended any realistic hopes United had of retaining the title.
The second half was played out without much action as YMCA consolidated their position before adding a double coup de grace toward the end of the 90 minutes.

However, the title wasn't lost here it was lost several weeks ago as United imploded in on themselves but post mortems are for the end of the season for now Marlow have to brush themselves down and secure runners up spot which while not as appetizing as being the champion club still offers credibility and some retribution.

For now, is a moment to pause and offer a little humility in praising the new TVPL champions, Reading YMCA, league tables never lie and they are champions for a reason and we wholeheartedly congratulate their effort and success this season.

For United it’s now a Wednesday evening trip to Cintra Park followed by the final game of a season that showed so much promise at Scours Lane v Highmoor Ibis.

To conclude on a high note congratulations to our Eliot Ryan's reserve team who secured promotion to division one with a narrow 2-1 win at Woodcote reserves on Wednesday evening. It may not feel like it right now but this success is important to United's future hopes.
