Maryport prospect Sam Forrester crossed five times in their 64-16 win against Wath Brow. The hosts put in a dazzling performance to complete a season-double over the Brow.

The young Hornets side had no answer to the power and pace of the hosts, and the game was effectively over as a contest at half-time with Maryport 28-0 up.

Wath Brow did much better after the interval and controlled the game for long periods, but Maryport contained to pressure and showed their level of improvement this season under the Murdock coaching team, who were disappointed their team conceded 16 points.

Liam Vickers, two, Scott Akehurst, Andrew Pattinson, John Dollochin, Mark Foster and Jonathan Burnyeat also touched down for Maryport, Mark Walker booting seven goals and Craig Foster, one.

Wath Brow’s tries came from Martin Barwise, David Charlton and Jason Connery. Jamie Sharp and Connery added one goal each.
