Matlock Rugby Club will be hosting the 4th Annual pre season Matlock X's.
Tournament has started to get a reputation as one of the premier pre-season tournaments in the region and the standard has got better year on year. The tournament mainly serves as a good pre-season warm up with alot of emphasis on fun, although previous competitors in the tournament will know that once they have stepped over the white line the rugby is played at a fast and furious pace. Previous winners and participants include

Where you find rugby, you will find beer! The annual Matlock Beer Festival is held in conjuction with the Matlock rugby 10s. Here you will find over 40 beers and ciders for the players and spectators refreshment as well as live music in the evening to keep the party going long into the evening after the final whistle.
The event has served as a good fund raiser, not only for Matlock RUFC, but also for charities such as Sport Relief, Breast Cancer Care, Help for Heroes and the Matt Hampson Trust.
We were very fortunate in 2010, in that Matt Hampson supported the event in person and spent many an hour during the day sampling the many beers and ciders at the beer festival, and he was on hand to present the winning sides of the tournament with there trophies. He has promised he will be there in 2011 after having such a great day last year and the Matlock 10s and beer festival will be supporting his foundation and trust once again.
