1st Team 17 – 7 Notts Casuals
The Blue Boys came out on top in an evenly balanced game with both teams demonstrating their staunch defensive skills. Matlock showed some of their recent form early in the second half to pull away from Casuals and see out the game. Tries scored from Charlie Jackson, Tom Cruttenden and Tom Wright. Earlier in the week, Bakewell made the decision to withdraw from the league and subsequently all points gained by their opponents this season have been removed – this means Matlock now sit second in the league!

3rd Team 21 – 20 Derby
The 3rd team travelled to Derby to play their 3rds – notoriously a strong team and always a tough game. Bruce’s Babes put on an impressive performance to steal the win!

U15 lost to Ashfield
The U15s played away against a strong Ashfield team who kindly shared a few players with Matlock who were missing a number of their usual forwards. It was a physical game and Matlock scored two good tries, but unfortunately there were a few more against on a ground that at least allowed the lads to play some running rugby.

U12 lost to Notts Corsairs
The U12s travelled to Notts Corsairs with a few players missing which changed the usual back line. Everyone stepped up and played their part in a tough but even game. In the end Corsairs were the winners, but some great tries from Matlock made for a good morning of rugby.

U10 5 – 3 Corsairs (tries)
This was a very physical game in which Matlock's ability to get to the breakdown first saw them edge a tight match with five tries.

U9 v Corsairs
The U9s played two really close games in a fantastic morning of rugby, thoroughly enjoyed by parents and players. The highlight was a turnover 1 metre from the Matlock try line which quickly became a Matlock try!
