(SEE MATTHEW FOSTER OR ASK THE BAR TEAM)

Gentlemen of Medicals,
Is it really that time of year again? Has it been almost a full year since "You ignored me and got drunk (*) with your mates" (Mrs Foster, February 2011). Well, yes....yes it has!

So, let us not pretend that you are "thinking about it and will come back to me closer to the time". Don't be silly (*), of course you are coming. It's the promise of good food, fine wine, great company, life changing speeches and nudity that draws you every year....and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Tickets are priced the same as last year... They are for a two people and cost £60 for students and £75 for real people. You can buy them from me. I will accept cash or cheques made payable to 'Medicals Old Boys'. I will attend at home games in January with tickets. Alternatively, call me on 07837 101 847 to arrange a pick up or send me a cheque with names and a return address for the tickets. An email response with an expression of interest would be a good start. My address is 25 Felixstowe Drive, Cochrane Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE7 7JY.

Tables are for 10 people. You can organise them yourself and come to me with a whole table or we can sort it out closer to the time... Or, I can just have a laugh in setting the tables with Howard the week before and see what we come up with over a few pints in The County. Your choice.

In recent times it seems to have become more common to bring a fellow member of Meds as your significant other. Mostly a student phenomenon. In my day, this meant one of you would wear an evening dress, much to the amusement of the rest of us. So I propose, that if you have no girlfriend / wife etc, then bring a lady friend (*) for somebody else to serenade (*) for the evening. That, I would propose, is good form and carries with it an inherent nobility.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
Have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers,
Foz
(Matt Foster)
