All you ever wanted to know about Toby

Introducing
Name: Toby Nicholls
DOB: 06/10/1997
Height: 6ft
Marital Status: In a relationship

1. Which team do you look forward to playing the most and why?

Serpents! Phenomenal banter and just the right level of competition and energy requirement for students who've been out the night before. Most importantly the craic with the team.

2. What is your personal aim this season?

Always have a full Serpents' XV by recruiting 7 freshers and to attend at least 1 training session a week.

3. Favourite food

Curry or steak? I couldn't tell you really, but it depends on the time of day. 4AM after a big night out, a sit down curry and further pints sorts you right out (Balti King in Sheffield); but then an oozing, blue fillet steak during a long, lazy lunch with a couple of bottles of red would also perform magnificently, so it really depends.

4. Favourite film?

Gladiator or PS I love you

5. If you could attend any sporting event in the world, what would it be?

RWC Final 2003; this was the day my decided I would become a rugby player as opposed to a footballer, and I was taken down to my local club the next Sunday.

6. How did you become a Medicals player?

RWC Final 2003; this was the day my decided I would become a rugby player as opposed to a footballer, and I was taken down to my local club the next Sunday.

7. When did you last score a try?

Last scored at some point this year or Meds; I'm on a slightly better score than 1 try per year for the last 14 I've been playing

8. Most embarrassing moment on a rugby field?

Looking back it's actually my first try ever during touch rugby, that because it took me 2 years to score I hadn't worked out what to do. So as I touched the ball down I shouted: "Tag!"

9. Growing up who was your all time favourite rugby player?

Jonny Wilkinson till about 10 and has been Joe Marler or Chris Robshaw since, but I do have a lot of respect for Maro Itoje.

10. If you could be another teammate for a week who would it be and why?

I think Louis 'Toffee' Roberts: playing piano and singing, chatting to every man and his dog all the time, and understanding what it's like to be a Scouser would make it an interesting experience.

11. Who would you pick to have you back on the pitch?

Rich Clegg or Garry just because they're both huge scary men

12. What is your favourite website

A tough one, but Netflix has served me well for a few chills in the past

13. Who is your dream date?

Haydn Walters with a couple of cold ones in The Lonsdale, as well as the fact this new tattoo turns him into a hunk!

14. Who’s the best dressed in the squad?

Ifede, Snelling or Kamdar. The first two's presentation at the ball was great, but Kamdar's excellent dress for the majority of the time probably edges it for him.

15. Which teammate would be voted off Love Island first and who would win?

Giles would go first for general poor chat, and Haydn would win because he seems to pull anywhere.

16. Best practical joke you have seen one of the boys play?

At Meds Overboard, during one of the chair races someone just yanked a chair from underneath me, still don't know who did it!

17. What teammate is most likely to avoid paying for a round when you are out?

I think we all get overly generous when out, which explains the states we get into or maybe I just forget who doesn't buy me drinks

18. What training drill do you dread the most?

I'd need to attend training more for that one, and everyone should be able to answer this next year! In general I hate sprints.

19. What is your partners nick name for you?

The Matador

20. One word to describe you?

The Matador

21. Who is angriest Medicals Player and who is the softest?

I would say its Paul the groundsman and softest is Sam Snelling
