It was a murky wet day in Brixton, but the U16 Dragons side shook off the conditions to run in eleven tries against a plucky Bulls team.

The Dragons team took an early lead on three minutes from Kaine Dimech, who played a storming game throughout the sixty minutes, leading from the front with the Captains armband.

Two more tries in the first half from storming second row Funsho Olaleye plus a conversion from Connor O'Grady saw the Dragons go into the half-time break 14-4 up.

The second half saw Dragons new boy Joe Keyes run in a try, followed by Elliott Barnes and a second for Dimech before Keyes ran in his second. All of these tries were converted by Ewan Rushworth who had a great game with the boot. Barnes then ran in another try before Connor Nayler crashed over from short range to bag a try for himself. Ewan Rushworth converted both of these as well before Richard Harris added another try.

Our opponents on the day must take huge credit for the match as they struck back late on with two great tries, proving that the lads from Brixton don't give up, even against overwhelming odds.

The match was finished in style as Dapo Awofolu ran in a try, once agin converted by Rushworth.

Coach Mike Nayler said of the victory "Well done to all the lads who played today - everyone played an important part in another excellent squad victory, with credit also going to three of our guys who in turns played for the Bulls to make it a great 13-a-side contest". He added "thanks must go to Brixton Bulls, great rivals and firm friends in the Rugby League family for staging a superb day of Rugby".

So, with two away matches completed and two wins chalked up, the Under Sixteens return to the Garrison next Saturday to play the Croydon Hurricanes, another of our great rivals from the last few years - lets look forwarded as another day of superb Rugby awaits....
