Dragons tame the Bulls
Medway Dragons U12’s welcomed Brixton Bulls to the Garrison Ground for their round 12 League Match and the return fixture after a close away match at Brixton earlier in the season.
Brixton were down to 10 players so the Dragons lent 3 players to make it 13 a side.
Brixton had been delayed getting to the ground so had to cut short their warm up, add the fact they had 3 new players from Medway on their side and it was no surprise the Dragons took an early lead with two tries from prop Anthony Parish, the second under the posts after Anthony took a great line from a well-timed pass. Brixton started to come back into the game but there was no let up from the Dragons who added a further 3 tries, a brace from hooker Sam Crean and one for stand off Josh Lamb. Ben Ripley was successful with 4 of the 5 conversions meaning a half time score line of 28 – 0.
The Dragons continued playing very well right from the kick off in the second half and scored an early try through fullback Jack Bloomfield. Brixton never let their heads drop and after applying their own spell of pressure with two good sets of six tackles, they got the try they deserved finally breaking the Dragons defence to score under the posts and take a successful conversion. The Dragons were not finish though and replied with two more tries of their own. Josh Lamb with his second for the day and winger Ben Ripley getting his first as well as his 3rd conversion of the second half. The final score was 46 points to 6 in favour of the Dragons.
A thank you to the 8 Dragons players who played for Brixton as well as the Dragons: Jason Cragg, Oscar Wells, Lewis Hollidge, Sam Crean, Tom Narborough, James Batey, Joe Fox and Anthony Parish.
