U16 - Win through to League Final

Dragons U16s beat St.Albans/Hemel in try-fest thriller

The Dragons U16 team once again triumphed in style to reach their third Final of the year.

The team took to the field in St. Albans with confidence at a high and went into the match all guns blazing.

The Dragons scored first and last in the first half and looked the strongest in attack, but it was the Dragons defence that won the day as the St.Albans/Hemel team were thwarted set after set. It wasn't until late in the second half that they crossed the Dragons line.

The second half was a similar story with the Dragons running in more tries with little response from their hosts.

The final score of 54-14 strongly reflected the way the game had gone.

Well done to all the lads who played, but we all agreed this was not the time to celebrate. The job is not yet finished.

So, having won the start of season 9's compeition and the mid-season Challenge Cup, we travel to the home of London Skolars next week to play our old friends and rivals Croydon Hurricanes in the League playoff final.

We need to approach that game with the same steel and determination indefence and the same flair and pace in attack.

Come on you Dragons!
