The wait was over and the hard work in pre-season for the coaching staff proved worthwhile as over 30 players arrived at The Garrison for the first training session of Mens Rugby League in 2012. An exciting mixture of experience and youth, a real sense of athletcism and pace was very evident, generating a real buzz and sense of anticipation for the season ahead.

Medway Dragons Men will field two teams in 2012. The First Grade will play in the South East Championship in Tier 4 of the national competition and the Reserves will play in The London & South East Merit League. First action is on Saturday 21 April 2012 in the London RL 9's

Dragons Head Coach Martin Coyd was thrilled 'It is always a nervous time in the build up to a season launch, wondering who will turn up ? Team Manager Andy Dalrymple has done a great job keeping in touch with the lads and it was great to see so many back again'

'Even more pleasing was the number of players who have come through the Dragons Juniors and London Broncos Academy who have arrived to be a part of the Mens set up at the club. We also have brand new players to the club who are attracted to play Rugby League. I know of many other players who are yet to show. It will be very tough to get a First Grade jersey this year'

'The pace and athleticism on show tonight was amazing, especially for a first session, all played with a big smile, yet an air of professionalism as the lads were finding their way. I am delighted for Mark Roughsedge and Scott Collier as they will have a fantastic experience coaching these guys this summer'

Medway Dragons Men train on Tuesdays 1930-2100 hrs

There will be a Captains Run on Thursday at 2000 hrs once the season begins.
