Rob Powell spent his first day at the office with the support staff putting together the programme for the Dragons 2014 Pre-Season Programme. There will be a six-week lead in to the first round of the Southern Premier Competition, which features a 10-round league, play offs, a knockout cup, a 9’s competition and the opportunity to progress to the National Finals

Dragons Club Head Coach Martin Coyd said ‘We have put together a strong support team to ensure that the coaching team are able to focus on the football ensure that the lads are able to perform at their best. It is early yet and we will be announcing new appointments to the support team very soon. We understand that the right people can make a huge difference and we have taken the time to put the right people in the right place’

As the build-up progresses The Dragons Website will contain features about the people who make up the Dragons First Grade Support Team.

Coyd added ‘There has been a huge amount of interest and inquiries from players from all over since we made the announcement. We have a great opportunity to prepare properly so that we can be ready on Saturday 03 May 2014 when the season kicks off. There is no doubt it will be challenging, intense and a big step up for some’

For the first time, the Dragons will be running an open trial in April and we will be playing a pre-season trial game on Saturday 26 April 2014, which will be part of a huge Dragons event when we host a Primary Rugby League Festival, teams from France and a first ever Kent Masters RL event – Men of Kent v Kentish Men.
