Girls Rugby League Grows in Kent
Girls Rugby League received a welcome boost with the launch of West Kent Warriors, based in Tonbridge, who launch on Sunday 04 March 2012 at 1000 hrs
West Kent Warriors are the latest team to join the growing Girls Rugby League in London & The South. the Carnegie Champion School Competition in 2011 gave many girls the first taste of Rugby League and this was followed with a camp at The Garrison last summer.
Medway & Kent Community Rugby League Coach Mark Roughsedge said 'This is great news for everyone involved in Girls sport and a local rival for The Dragons will have a very positive effect on all the players'
'We made a good start in 2011 and, just like the Boys Junior game, more teams make it more exciting and helps the game grow faster. Playing and training in good conditions is perfect for the girls. Summer just got even more exciting'
