Hard Rock Cafe Origin 2014 Launched

The legendary London RL Hard Rock Cafe Origin Series for 2014 has been launched. See inside for details

The fantastic finale to the London RL season, the Hard Rock Cafe Origin Series has been launched and will build on the remarkable successes of the past and bring together the best players, coaches and match officials from the 2014 season and give them a fitting platform to perform at their best.

Teams will be assembled, representing clubs from North of the Thames versus a team from South of the Thames at the following age groups:

  • Under 12
  • Under 13
  • Under 14
  • Under 15
  • Under 16
  • Under 17

The programme is as follows:

Sat 30 Aug 14: Training Session One
Sat 06 Sep 14: Game One Hemel Stags
Sat 13 Sep 14: Training session Two
Sat 20 Sep 14: Game Two London Skolars
Sat 27 Sep 14: Game Three Medway Park /The Garrison

Venues subject to confirmation

The selection process is underway and club coaches are submitting a monthly report to The London RL Youth & Junior League.

A new addition to the selection process this year is the formation of a panel of Talent ID Selectors who will attend at least one game for each and every team in The London RL Youth & Junior League. The panel is hugely experienced and has a deep knowledge of Rugby League in London:

  • Rob Powell
  • James Massara
  • Colin Baker
  • Marcus Tobin
  • Jimmy Giblin
  • Steve Guan

Selections will be announced before The Grand Final in July 2014

Dragons Head Coach Martin Coyd said 'Origin has been a big part of the game in London since before our formation and has always meant a lot to our players and coaches. We are a club that offers something for everyone but also offers a pathway for players and coaches with potential and ambition to excel. The exciting developments going on with our Mens Team have given a real focus to our junior players and this will add to that'
